Better very late than never.
In a joint appearance on Fox from the Cowboys’ game in Carolina, Jerry Jones told Jimmy Johnson live on the air that Jones will finally place Johnson in the team’s Ring of Honor.
In July, Jones expressed reluctance to give Johnson the long-overdue honor.
“We’re going to be making those announcements as we go,” Jones said at the time. “We’ll just let that go. I’ve got a couple of coaches, in addition to Jimmy, that ought to be in that Ring of Honor.”
Whoever they are, they’ll be waiting. Jimmy won’t be. The man responsible for consecutive Super Bowl wins and whose team won another one without him finally will receive the biggest honor Jones can bestow, on December 30.
