The official announcement was made through a Weibo post by the Chinese electronic brand. Additionally, there are speculations about the simultaneous launch of the OnePlus Ace 3, possibly rebranded as the OnePlus 12R for the global market, alongside the flagship model. Although there hasn’t been any official statement regarding the global launch, both smartphones are anticipated to make their debut in India and other regions in January 2024.
At a recent event by display maker BOE in China, OnePlus revealed that the OnePlus 12 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. The company highlighted display-related enhancements, confirming a 2K resolution AMOLED screen. The display will be driven by OPPO’s first-generation display chip, Display P1, enabling high-precision pixel-level calibration for improved image quality, increased brightness, and reduced power consumption. OnePlus has named the 2K resolution AMOLED display the “Oriental screen,” which has received an A+ rating from DisplayMate.
In terms of battery, the OnePlus 12 is expected to feature a 5,400mAh battery, accompanied by 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging support.
